![]() ![]() Check to see if cable release is NOT locked. Take off the cable release and see if that fixes the display problem. The cable release may be in lock mode (?). This is a very late response and I have not checked above that this has been said already. I have faces this same problems ease help me.this is my 1st gear please Seems like it should be something so simple but no answers yet. I can shoot an image and see it immediately, but I cannot scroll through the images I have shot. My on camera flash does work and the last I used the lens on it, I believe it was focusing. I have the same issues plus my on camera flash also stopped working and it is not autofocusing, check if you have these symptoms too. : ( Any suggestions or any one else with this issue? My camera is 13 months old with approximately 70,000 actuations. I contacted Nikon and they suggest sending it in which means no shooting for a month. When in the off position, my screen has the image number count and a CF next to a square symbol (likely of a cf card), when turned on, it has a 0 and the WB info. I cannot access any of my controls, including the Menu. I've tried both a CF card and an SD card but to no avail If the CF is your primary, can you tell if you have bent pins in the card slot? Any chance that your primary card is not in the body? I'll also double-check Mup but from memory I hadn't touched that.ĭo you have both a SD and CF card in the camera, and are they both showing a gray out on the menu? It sounds like "no memory card" release has been selected. I tried the two-button format, and the format menu is also greyed out. It's been formatted, but I can't do it in-camera as far as I know. I find it a very peculiar problem, since the memory card options in the menus are also all greyed out - it's as if I don't have a card loaded, but the camera still writes to the card but seemingly can't read from it?! The card isn't write-protected. I didn't know about hide images, I'll look into it. I'll have another browse through the settings and see if it's a set active/playback folder issue, but I'm under the impression it's a combination of settings that's making it freak out. Wandering Sagebrush edited this topic ages ago. No idea yet regarding the Live View issue. On Edit: Can you see the menu when you press that? If that is working, then do go back and check active versus playback folders. I had also thought that you might have somehow selected hide images, but that doesn't seem right either. I mulled your first post, and thought that you might have somehow set the active folder different from the playback folder, but now I am of the impression that you have an issue with something other than a setting. I thought I had an answer for you, but now I am not so sure. When you posted this in the D300 group, you didn't mention that Live View was not working either. However, playback should be OK in Mup mode.Ĭhrystia, you've added a little more information in this post. I haven't found much in the way of problems like this whilst searching the interwebs, so any insight is greatly appreciated!ĭid you use the Mirror Lock Up? If Mup is set on the control dial, Live View does not function. I've plugged/unplugged/properly ejected from a laptop several times. ![]() I thought it may have been an issue with the camera thinking it's still plugged into a computer - I'm pretty sure the issue arose after I transfered some files. I'm off on holiday tomorrow, time is of the essence and gutted I'll likely not be able to bring my camera with.įull factory reset (the one which requires you to hold down the shutter for 20 or so secs) I'm just about ready to send the camera back but thought I'd post here in one last attempt to find a solution. I've myseteriously run into a problem where I can't playback my images - the screen stays black when I push the playback button - and live view refuses to turn on. ![]()
